F.H. Wright letter to A.H. Caine concerning LDS missions in New Zealand, 1886 February 23.

This four-page letter, written by an LDS missionary at Te Puke, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, on February 23, 1886, offers some insight into early missionary efforts with the Maori. The letter's author, F.H. Wright, writes enthusiastically about his travels in the country and provides some statistics concerning Maori conversion to the LDS faith. He also describes a "conference" held on February 6, 1886, attended by several Elders from Utah and "upwards of 300 of the native Saints." Wright wrote the letter to A.H. Caine (1860-1890), son of the U.S. House Delegate from Utah Territory, John Thomas Caine.
